Privacy Policy

This policy explains what limited information MSME Community collects, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

1. Who we are

MSME Community is a student capstone prototype built by students of IIM Calcutta (EPGM-29). It is an informational website for Indian micro, small and medium enterprises. It is not a registered business.

2. Information we collect

We keep collection deliberately minimal:

  • Account details — the email address you use to sign up, and an encrypted password (or a Google sign-in identifier if you use that option).
  • Contact form entries — the name, email address and message you type into the contact form.
  • Tool inputs you choose to save — the sector, size, registration status and need you enter in the Scheme Finder, and the amounts you enter in the Savings Calculator, stored only when you press Save while signed in.
  • Basic usage events — anonymous counts of page views and tool runs, used to understand which sections are useful.

We do not ask for and do not want Aadhaar numbers, PAN, bank details, financial statements or any other sensitive personal or business identifiers. Please do not send them to us.

3. How we use it

To create and maintain your account, to show you your saved results across visits, to reply to your enquiry, and to measure aggregate usage of the site. That is all.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use a session cookie or equivalent browser storage so you stay signed in as you move between pages. Usage measurement is aggregate and event-based; we do not run advertising trackers or build advertising profiles.

5. We do not sell your data

We never sell, rent or trade your information. We do not share it with lenders, consultants or vendors. Information may be held by the hosting and authentication providers that run this site purely so the site can function.

6. Retention

Account and saved-result data is kept while your account exists. Contact form entries are kept only as long as needed to answer your query. Because this is a time-boxed academic project, all data may be deleted permanently once the project concludes.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — and you can delete your saved results yourself from your history page. Write to us and we will act on the request within a reasonable period.
